A message from David Lynch
“I started Transcendental Meditation in 1973 and have not missed a single meditation ever since. Twice a day, every day. It has given me effortless access to unlimited reserves of energy, creativity and happiness deep within. This level of life is sometimes called “pure consciousness” – it is a treasury and this level of life is deep within us all.
But I had no idea how powerful and profound this technique could be until I saw first-hand how it was being practiced by young children in inner-city schools, veterans who suffer the living hell of post-traumatic stress disorder and women and girls who are victims of terrible violence.
TM is, in a word, life-changing for the good.
If you don’t already meditate, take my advice: Start. It will be the best decision you ever make.”
The David Lynch Foundation
David Lynch explains that he set up his foundation to “ensure that every person anywhere in the world who wants to learn to meditate can do so.”
The David Lynch Foundation has been successfully operating since 2005 and has already sponsored over 500,000 people to learn Transcendental Meditation.
This video below shows just how powerful TM can be for those who are suffering from traumatic stress. It also shows why more and more scientists, educators, celebrities and governmental institutions are supporting the TM technique.
How can I learn Transcendental Meditation?
Transcending is effortless and pleasant to do. It can be easily learnt by anyone, and gives immediate results.
The experience of transcending can be achieved only in a completely natural and effortless way. It is an experience of inner silence that cannot be achieved by trying to be quiet. The more we try, the more we keep the mind active. Trying to relax is a contradiction in terms. That is why most “meditation” methods that require concentration have limited effect.
The Transcendental Meditation technique is taught individually, by a professionally trained teacher who is able to lead a person, without effort, to the experience of transcending.
If one has had this experience once, then the mind remembers it and, afterwards, it can go back there spontaneously, in a totally natural and effortless way, provided that one uses the correct technique. This technique is taught step-by-step, during four consecutive meetings. This initial training course is followed by an extensive program of follow-up meetings to ensure continued correct practice.
